If your child is enrolled in our CMC chess classes, use this to find their correct tournament section:
*Open to all chess players from Grades 1 to 12 (non-CMC students are able to join)*

Location: VIVO Recreation Centre. 11950 Country Village Link NE, Calgary, AB, T3K 6E3
Food Included: Pizza snack + drinks, and loot bags for all tournament participants.
Prizes: --> Trophies for top 3 (all 4 sections)
--> Prize for top girl (all 4 sections)
Rounds: 6 total rounds
Time Control: 15 minutes with 5 sec. delay
Normal Price: $40 CAD (taxes included)
CMC Student: $32 CAD (taxes included)
(To qualify, the player is/was enrolled
for the current CMC Winter Chess Classes or the previous CMC Fall Chess Classes.)
*No onsite registration. Payments must be made via e-transfer. *
Sections: *Players from grades 1-12 are eligible to join*
---> Open (Rating over 900)
---> Intermediate (Rating 750+ to 899)
---> Novice (Rating 560 to 750)
---> Beginner (Rating Below 560)
(+ players with no tournament experience)
*Note, the tournament organizer has the discretion to move players in the correct section based on their skill level of play.
